Dr. Kanasky has written a great intro to the basics of the Spread Offense for Youth Football. He does a great job keeping it "high" level so you can teach the basics to kids.
We are coaching a 9 year old team, and everyone gets the concepts and plays....although outside looking in, the offense looks very complicated, the author has done a terrific job keeping it simple and explaining the concepts of the offense.
As well, some things are left for interpetation, so you can adjust according to your strengths and weaknesses.
Overall, the kids have picked up on offense very quickly, and repetition is the key to success.
I would recommend purchasing the playbook, as well.
